My Ideas for District 4

  • The Future

I want Frederick to be the place that my kids will want to come back to and raise their families as well.

I want to set clear priorities for the City that can be easily communicated and monitored.

  • Reinforce Core Responsibilities

Core responsibilities:  Water, Sewer, Police, DPW, Budget Management

I believe that more and more responsibilities will be pushed down to the local level. The City will need to evaluate its core responsibilities to ensure that we can meet these demands.

  • Financial Responsibility

I believe the next four years will put additional financial demands on local governments due to the uncertainties at the Federal and State governments.

Knowing that local governments cannot meet all the demands created by these uncertainties, we will need to be able to set our financial priorities and work with others to help meet these demands.

  • Local Identities Connect Everyone

The identity of City and Frederick County is Downtown Frederick.  We need to create community identities outside of downtown. Having focal points for each neighborhood, creates a sense of pride and identity.

Continuing the interconnectivity of these neighborhoods is important. The connection between Baker Park and the Golden Mile (at Waterford Park) provided an important accessible connection between these neighborhoods. The pedestrian connection that will join the Clemson Corners area to TJ High School and Middle School neighborhoods.
